Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged Program

Assistance with care and housing for older people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Our goals are

  • To re-establish a capacity to live independently of Specialist Homelessness Services

  • Access to other services for the elderly
  • Financial counselling

Who can access the service?

Anyone who is aged 50 years and over or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander who is aged 45 years and over:

  • Without any acceptable roof over their head e.g. living on the streets, under bridges, in deserted buildings etc. (absolute homelessness or  sleeping rough)
  • Moving between various forms of temporary or medium term shelter such as hostels, refuges, boarding houses or friends;
  • Constrained to living permanently in single rooms in private boarding houses; or
  • Housed without conditions of home e.g. security, safety, or adequate standards (includes squatting).

Our office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
